ALS needs a cure and we’re here for it
ALS needs a cure and we’re here for it
Our brother, Marc, was officially diagnosed with Bulbar ALS last fall after experiencing symptoms for some time. Bulbar ALS is a severe type of variant that primarily affects swallowing, tongue mobility and speech. Over a short while, he has now lost his ability to speak and struggles with eating food.
Marc has a strong network of supportive women around him, his wife and 3 daughters, as well as many family members and friends that value all the moments they can share together. It really shouldn't have to be this way. We all want more time with Marc. A walk may not seem like enough, but gathering ALS awareness and fundraising to enhance research to find a cure is definitely moving in the right direction.
Let's lace up those shoes, make some memories and get out there to support our brother Marco!

This summer we will be participating in the Walk to End ALS. Now more than ever, the ALS community needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS/MND. That’s why we're joining thousands of others, a part of a passionate and motivated community to “walk” in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Please consider supporting us and donating towards this important cause.
Your support will help to:
- create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based support throughout Manitoba - like home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like wheelchairs, liftchairs, mobility aids and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.
- further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
Join us in making a difference.

Your support is needed now more than ever - we are stronger together!
