Help me create a world free of ALS
Help me create a world free of ALS
When I took part in my first Walk To End ALS in 2022, I felt like a bit of an imposter because I wasn't visibly disabled. My worst symptom at the time was slurred speech. Well, that concern is but a distant memory. Thanks a lot, ALS!!
Though I was diagnosed in early 2022, I have been living with ALS for well over five years now. It has been devastating for me and my family. In addition to the erosion of my energy and strength, I have lost the ability to speak, eat, drink, and walk. And if that's not enough, there is yet more loss to come. This road only goes one way.
But dreaming of a world without ALS gives me hope. That’s why I’m taking part in the Walk To End ALS on June 7. Forty percent of proceeds raised for this event are invested in the best ALS research in Canada. The other sixty percent directly benefits the ALS Society of Manitoba, enabling community-based support to people affected by ALS.
I am grateful for the generosity of people like you who are giving to this important cause. Thank you for helping! Together we will make a difference.
I look forward to seeing those who are able to make it to the walk at Assiniboine Park.
Sincerely,
Kevin
