My mom was one of the brightest lights in my life—full of laughter, love, and unwavering strength. In 2025, that light faced a darkness none of us could have prepared for: advanced-stage ALS. Watching her body gradually betray her while her spirit remained fierce was one of the hardest things I have ever experienced.

ALS is a cruel, relentless disease, and yet, in the midst of heartbreak, I learned something beautiful: the power of presence, of love, and of choosing life even in the most difficult moments. My mom’s courage, her humor, and her incredible heart taught me that even when life is messy, there is still magic, still connection, and still hope.

I’m walking in the Walk to End ALS in her honor—not just for her, but for every person and family facing this disease. Every step I take carries her spirit and reminds me that love is stronger than fear, hope stronger than despair, and community stronger than isolation.
