As most people looking at this page will know, my name is Katy Horst. Myself and some of my friends are participating in this walk because I was diagnosed with ALS in May 2023. It has been a real "FUN" ride ever since. This disease seems to move faster than my cat Charlie running to the food bowl. 🐱

I hope you will consider suporting our team. Money raised goes towards the ALS Society, who has helped me with equipment and wheelchairs, and also towards research for medication. There is not a lot of medication for ALS but there is hope and some promising studies in progress.

The Walk to End ALS is an occasion to come together with others who have lived similar experiences and to celebrate the strength of our community. Of all funds raised, 60% will benefit Community Services Programs including our Equipment Program, Webinars, Support Groups and Workshops, and 40% will go directly to our National Research program as we work towards finding a cure.
