Help our team create a world free of ALS

This summer The Chan Family will be participating in the Halton Region's Walk to End ALS - in loving memory of Anthony Suk Fong Chan - otherwise well known as 'Mr Tony Chan'.

Anthony Suk Fong Chan (aka Tony or Mr Tony Chan) was a respected pharmacist with many talents and a passion for travel, nature, music and art. He was a kind man who brought endless love and happiness to the lives of his family and friends. In March 2021, he began to develop progressively worsening neurological symptoms including difficulty eating, difficulty speaking, difficulty breathing and eventually difficulty walking. He was diagnosed with bulbar onset Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) on September 1st, 2021 and after a courageous battle - he passed away on December 12, 2021 at the age of 73.

The Chan Family continues to mourn our loss - we miss him dearly everyday and we continue to feel deeply for those who are still impacted by this illness.

The ALS community needs our support, which is why we are joining thousands of others to walk in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS!!

We need more hope! We need A CURE!!!

Your support will help to:

  • Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based support throughout Ontario – like home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.
  • Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and will do more than you know!

Thank you kindly in advance for your generosity and support!!

Let’s create hope for a future without ALS! 👊

Sincerely,

The Chan Family
