This year Mary's Team is participating in the Walk to End ALS on June 8th at Ashbridge's Bay. Mary's Team was created in September 2019 to honour the incredible and beautiful Mary Mitchell. Mary was diagnosed with ALS in 2018, and we created Mary’s Team to honour her, to share with others how much she is loved, and to raise money for the ALS Society. Mary sadly passed away from ALS in December 2019. She was a loving wife, mother, Oma and friend, who made such a difference in the lives of so many people. Her calm spirit, positivity, joy of life, humour and creator of fun is missed everyday. We want to continue to honour and remember her through this annual walk.

• Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum. 
• Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario – this includes home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts, and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.
