Join the effort to End ALS ... Let's Roll!
Harry J was diagnosed with ALS in January 2025. This Walk to End ALS is his first opportunity to help raise funds for research to find better treatments and, who knows, maybe even a cure! It's also to help the ALS Society provide support to those already living with ALS.
The ALS Walk in London is at Springbank Park on Saturday, 21 June 2025. Join Harry and support the Forest City Rollers* team in one or both of two ways:
- register to join the team and participate in the walk
- pledge/donate in support of the team or an individual team member before June 21
Your support will:
- Further scientific progress through the ALS Canada Research Program, the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada, providing peer-reviewed grants to researchers with the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – let's keep building on this momentum.
- Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS -- community-based services including home visits, support groups and lending equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts and all kinds of other items at no cost.
Join our team to walk and/or donate on the team fundraising page as we work toward a world free of ALS.
Psstt * why "Forest City Rollers"? London styles itself as the Forest City and the walk takes place in the well-treed Springbank Park. As to "Rollers" --- well, satisfaction and success in life are not determined by what happens to you but rather have more to do with how you react and respond. The best way to deal with a punch is to roll with it. So, faced with ALS, "let's roll!" (Plus, there's all kinds of songs that make great background music with this theme :-)
