Racing for a Cure: Remembering Doug
Walk with us in honor of our dad and help create a world free of ALS
Walk with us in honor of our dad and help create a world free of ALS
This spring, we are walking in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS in honor of our dad, Doug.
In 2021, after a long search for answers, our dad received the devastating diagnosis of ALS. It was a surprise, but in true Doug fashion, he faced it with humor and ease—more concerned with comforting those around him than dwelling on the battle ahead. His fight was short, but his impact was lasting.
Doug was a man who loved his family, his friends, football (especially the Packers), and his muscle cars. Sunday night cruises were his favorite, a time to enjoy the road and the company of those he loved. Now, we walk in his memory, carrying forward his spirit, strength, and love for life.
We’re joining thousands of others in the ALS community to walk for hope, support, and a future without ALS. More than ever, those battling ALS—and their families—need our help. Your support will:
• Fund critical ALS research through the ALS Canada Research Program, the only national funding source dedicated to finding treatments and, one day, a cure. Tremendous progress has been made in the last five years—more than in the last century—but we need to keep pushing forward.
• Provide vital services for ALS patients and their families, including home visits, support groups, and essential medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, and stairlifts—at no cost to those who need them.
We invite you to walk with us or donate to our team’s fundraising efforts as we honor Doug’s memory and support those currently fighting this disease.
Together, we can drive change—one step at a time.
