Help me create a world free of ALS
Help me create a world free of ALS
On June 8, I'm participating in my second ALS Canada Walk to End ALS. Here are the details:
Date: Sunday, June 8th
Location: Ashbridges Bay Park, Lakeshore Blvd E, Toronto
Registration Time: 10:00 AM
Opening Ceremony Start Time: 10:30 AM (they have asked me to cut the ribbon to start the walk).
I was touched by the support I received last year - both for my walk and for me personally. I am grateful for your expressions of support as I am grateful to be able to participate in this year's walk.
Over the course on the next 4 weeks, I will share some of what I have learned about, and from, ALS over the past year: intellectually, psychologically, and emotionally, as an access point to request your support for the ALS community.
The ALS community needs support to provide help to families affected by ALS and to invest in research to eradicate ALS.
Your support will help to:
- Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
- Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario – this includes home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts, and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.
Please donate to my team fundraising page as we invest in these areas and work toward achieving a world free of ALS.
Thank you.
Wade
