Help me create a world free of ALS

Dear family, friends and supporters of Team McCauley,

On June 7, 2025, we will be participating in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS. We welcome your support through a donation and/or by joining us for a walk in honour of our beloved Chris. This year we also honour... Jacques Laferriere,  dad/grandfather to Laferriere's, who recently died of ALS in 2024,and of course, many other loved ones of both our family and friends.

A BIG shout out to super-walker and family friend, Marianne Hare, who joins us each year rain or shine! Thanks Marianne and family for all your donations over the years.

Also, we want to express our appreciation to our brother Mike and his family who often take the time to travel from Toronto/Point au Baril to join us.

Another special honour goes to our dad Terry.

Dad died May 10, 2000 and 'rests' in St. Mary's cemetery, across the street from where the ALS walk is held (Sunnidale Park).  As we walk this year, we will be commemorating 25 years since his death. He would be so pleased that we honour Chris this way. We miss them both dearly.

FYI**to find details of the walk including location , time etc...Look for the header "Team's Location" and click on Simoce County.

Why we walk every year...We sadly know firsthand how much our ALS community needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. That’s why we're joining thousands of others, a part of a passionate and motivated community to “walk” in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS. Please consider supporting our team and donating towards this important cause.Your support will help to:

  • Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
  • Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario – this includes home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts, and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.

Join our team in making a difference. Please consider donating to our team fundraising page as we work toward a world free of ALS.United, we are stronger together! Thank YOU!  LOVE , hope and peace... TEAM MCCAULEY
