Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
Help Us Walk to End ALS – Team [Your Team Name Here]
We're proud to be participating in the Niagara Region Walk to End ALS on June 7th, 2025, and we’re inviting YOU to join us—by donating, sharing, or walking with us in spirit—to support Canadians living with ALS.
This cause is deeply personal for our team. On May 6, 2020, after a year of testing and uncertainty, a very special person in our lives—our father, friend, and mentor—was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
ALS is a progressive and fatal neurological disease that attacks the nerves controlling muscles. Over time, it robs people of their ability to move, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. There is no cure, and most people diagnosed face a life expectancy of just 2–5 years.
Watching someone we love and admire lose his independence, strength, and voice has been heartbreaking—but it has also inspired us to act. That’s why we walk. That’s why we fundraise. That’s why we won’t stop.
While this year’s campaign has had a later start than usual, we believe that together, we can make an even bigger impact.
The ALS Society of Canada plays a crucial role in the lives of families like ours by:
- Offering direct support to people living with ALS, their caregivers, and families
- Providing medical equipment like hospital beds, stairlifts, and mobility aids—free of charge
- Investing in cutting-edge ALS research, helping us move closer to answers, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure
Last year, this team raised over $5,000, and we’re aiming to beat that goal in 2025. But we can’t do it without you.
Here’s how you can help:
- Donate to our team’s fundraiser—every dollar makes a difference
- Share our fundraising page to spread the word
- Walk with us on June 7 or support from afar—your voice matters
Every step we take is for those who can’t.
Every donation brings hope to the thousands of Canadians living with ALS.
Let’s show them they’re not alone.
Thank you for standing with us.
