Help us create a world free of ALS

PLEASE HELP us to END ALS, and to support a young boy on an important mission.

MATTIE.  One of the most vibrant, charismatic, benevolent, and generous human beings we have met, was diagnosed with ALS.

Mattie’s wife, Clare, and young son, Hudson, determined to show that “good things can exist, where bad things also do”, created a team for the 2022 Walk to End ALS.  They called it, Hudson’s Homies for H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Experiencing – ALS).

They set a goal to raise $2500 for advocacy, community-based support, and ALS research - they reached over $30,000 in donations, with Hudson raising more than $9,000 on his own.

In 2023, they did it again.

In 2024, after losing a dad and husband to this terrible disease, they did it again.

Hudson’s Homies for Hope has raised over $83,000, and Hudson has made it his goal to break $100,000 this year.

We will be participating in the 2025 Walk to End ALS and are reaching out to you for support. The Walk is the largest volunteer-led fundraiser for ALS Societies across Canada. It’s a way for communities to unite and celebrate hope for a future without ALS; honour loved ones we have lost to this disease and show support for Canadians and their families living with ALS.

Your support is needed now more than ever. ALS is a terminal and devastating disease that takes away someone’s ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and eventually breathe – often within two to five years from diagnosis.

Your support will help to:

  • Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
  • Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based support throughout Ontario – like home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.

PLEASE HELP us to END ALS, and to help Hudson and others like him, continue to show that good things exist, where bad things also do.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.
