This summer, we’ll be participating in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS in support of ALS Canada. This walk is especially meaningful to us because we are walking for our good friend Dave, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis earlier this year.

Dave has always been there for all of us in one way or another. There is very little he wouldn’t do for the people he cares about, and his friendship, kindness, and support have touched so many lives over the years. Now, as he and his family face this difficult journey, we stand together as friends to walk beside them, support them, and show them they are not alone in this fight.

Now more than ever, the ALS community needs support to provide hope, care, and progress for families affected by ALS. We’re honoured to join thousands of passionate supporters walking together in celebration of hope and a future free of ALS.

• Advance scientific progress through the ALS Canada Research Program, the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. The program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to move the field forward. There has been more progress in ALS research in the last five years than in the previous century, and continued support is critical to maintaining this momentum.
• Improve the day-to-day lives of people and families living with ALS by supporting community-based services throughout Ontario, including support groups, virtual programming, and information resources that help improve quality of life for those affected by ALS.
