Help our team support those living with ALS
This time last year I was diagnosed with ALS! Following this news our team of family and friends came together as the Sprocket Rockets to take part in the ALS Canada Revolution Ride. With incredible community support and generosity we raised over $73,000.00 towards research and helping those living with ALS.
After one year, I continue to receive the love and support from family and friends as fight through the changes to my body in order to make the most of each day. On the 27th of June our team will be walking to raise awareness of this terrible disease and support those living with ALS.
We have joined this event quite late as Nancy and I have been preparing to sell our home and find a safer more accessible dwelling.
Please feel free to join our team and come out and walk with us on June 27th at Heydenshore in Whitby!

Now more than ever, the ALS community needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. That’s why we're joining thousands of others, a part of a passionate and motivated community to “walk” in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS. Please consider supporting our team and donating towards this important cause.
Your support will help to:
- Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
- Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario. This includes support groups, virtual programming, and information resources, which are all critical in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by ALS.
Join our team in making a difference. Please consider donating to our team fundraising page as we work toward a world free of ALS.
United, we are stronger together!
