Christina's Crew ROCKS!
"So that not one more family has to go through what ours is going through." - Christina, sometime in the spring of 2018.
"So that not one more family has to go through what ours is going through." - Christina, sometime in the spring of 2018.
Again this summer Christina's Crew will be participating in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS. Christina was with us during our first Walk to End ALS back in 2018. It was a beautiful, sunny and warm day in Bronte Creek Provincial Park - location that year of the Halton Walk. 'Sadly' is putting it extremely mildly, but sadly, that was the one and only Walk to End ALS Christina would participate in. Our kids and I lost our Leader and Light to ALS on December 11, 2018. Christina was only 54 years young.
The ALS community continues to need our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. That’s why Christina's Crew is joining thousands of others, part of a passionate and motivated community to “walk” in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS, and in celebration, honour and memory of Christina Hannam. Please consider supporting our team and donating towards this important cause. In the words of both Christina and our Team Leader Katie-Bug, probably during a tasty hot dogs with cheese in the middle feast while planning our fundraising efforts for the 2018 Halton Walk to End ALS, 'So that not one more family has to go through what ours is (still) going through.'
Your support will help to:
- Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based support throughout Ontario – like home visits and support groups – as well as necessary medical equipment like hospital beds, wheelchairs, stairlifts and other items that increase safety in the home, at no cost to those who need them.
- Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
Please consider supporting Christina's Crew in helping to making a precious difference. I promise you from intimate first hand experience that every single dollar raised will be deeply appreciated by a family currently enduring their own ALS nightmare. My heart hurts for every one of those families.
