I remember mom sitting beside my mom, holding her hand as the neurologist confirmed she had ALS. That moment is burned into my memory.
She loved to walk. It was her happy place after decades of tennis, joyful singing at parties, and being the family glue it was like all the air had been sucked out of the room.
Before she lost the ability to speak, she questioned her impact in her life. She had given more to various charities than most will do in their lifetime, and as we put away her belongings, we found thousands of receipts and letters from charities, which continued to come long after her passing. People told us of her selfless abundant heart. We know her impact was massive. Still is.
My niece Chantal has created a team. Our family will walk in our mother's/Grammy's memory and to support those who walk her path and their families. My parents nicknames are Grammy and Gramps.
