"Don’t Let the Hard Days Win" - Walking for My Husband. Walking for Hope.

In October 2025, my husband was diagnosed with ALS. Nothing prepares you for words like that. Since then, our lives have changed in ways big and small — and every day looks a little different than we imagined it would.

But if you know him, you know one of his favourite quotes:
“Don’t let the hard days win.”

And there are hard days.

There are days filled with appointments, questions, and uncertainty. But there are also moments of laughter in our living room, bedtime stories, and little arms wrapped tightly around him.

We have two beautiful little girls — just 2 and 4 years old — who bring light into every single day. They may not understand ALS, but they understand love. They understand cuddles, silly moments, and that Daddy is their hero. Watching him continue to show up for them with strength and tenderness, even in the hardest moments, is something I will never take for granted.

This year, I am walking in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS for him — and for them.

I am walking for the man who continues to face this diagnosis with courage.
I am walking for our daughters, so they can grow up knowing we fought with everything we had.
I am walking for hope — hope for treatments, hope for progress, and hope for a future without ALS.

ALS is relentless. But so is the community fighting it.

Funds raised through ALS Canada support critical research — the only national dedicated source of ALS research funding in Canada — and provide essential services for families like ours, including home visits, support groups, virtual programming, and trusted resources that help us navigate day-to-day life.

When you donate, you are not just supporting research.
You are supporting families like mine. You are supporting two little girls who deserve as many strong, beautiful years with their dad as possible.

If you are able, please consider contributing to my fundraising page. Every dollar helps move us closer to better treatments, stronger supports, and ultimately, a world free of ALS.

Thank you for standing beside us.
Thank you for helping us not let the hard days win.

With gratitude,
Kelly 🤍
