Help me create a world free of ALS

Our family participated in our first Walk to End ALS in June of 2024. It gave us a meaningful way to support Johnny and connect with others affected by ALS. When we first learned about the disease and the ongoing activities of the ALS Society of Canada, we discovered the Walk to End ALS in Peterborough and signed up right away. It felt like the perfect opportunity to come together as family and friends, raise awareness, and show our support. Our team quickly grew to over 30 participants, and have raises nearly $10,000 for this great cause. It’s been an inspiring and unifying experience for all of us.

We will continue to walk in the Walk to End ALS because the cause is deeply personal, and the impact is real. Each step we take honors Johnny and everyone affected by this devastating disease. The walk has become more than just an event—it’s a symbol of hope, unity, and determination. We’re committed to raising awareness, supporting critical research, and standing alongside families in the ALS community until a cure is found. As long as there’s progress to be made, we’ll keep walking.

This summer we will be participating in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS. Now more than ever, the ALS community needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. That’s why we're joining thousands of others, a part of a passionate and motivated community to “walk” in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS. Please consider supporting our team and donating towards this important cause.

Your support will help to:

Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum. Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario. This includes home visits and support groups, virtual programming, and information resources, which are all critical in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by ALS.

Join our team in making a difference. Please consider donating to our team fundraising page as we work toward a world free of ALS.
