Let's strike ALS off the world's bucket list!
Please read my brother's story - then join our team, or donate today. For Mark. For every family fighting this battle. For a world free of ALS.
In 2000, Mark Freedman stood on top of the world — literally. He was crowned World Champion powerlifter in the deadlift, a man whose body was his instrument, his discipline, and his pride.
Today, at 65, Mark is living with ALS — a disease that progressively steals the very thing he spent a lifetime building: the ability to move.
That contrast isn't lost on any of us who love him. And it's exactly why we're walking.
Mark has spent his life doing extraordinary things. After a career in animation — bringing characters to life on screen — he spent 20 years as a financial planner, helping families build their futures. He is a son, brother, an uncle, a cousin, and a friend who has shown up for everyone around him, always. Now it's our turn to show up for him.
We are the ALS Freed-om Fighters — family, extended family, and friends who refuse to watch ALS win without a fight. On June 6th, 2026, we'll walk together in Ottawa as part of the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS.
Every dollar raised goes directly toward ALS research and community support for Ontario families living with this disease. And in 2026, all funds raised are being matched by Brain Canada — meaning your donation goes twice as far.
ALS has one unchecked box on the world's bucket list. Help us check it.
