Walking in memory of Tony

This June, I will once again be participating in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS, in memory of Tony.

As you may know, in 2007 our family was directly impacted by ALS when my husband Tony was diagnosed with this relentless and fatal disease. Throughout the changes and challenges that came with ALS, Tony remained hopeful that a treatment, and ultimately a cure, would one day be a reality. He lived ever so courageously with ALS for 5 and 1/2 years before he passed in 2013.

I have been walking in support of the ALS community since 2008 and now, along with Tony's Troopers, I continue to walk in memory of Tony and in the hope for a future without ALS. I am so thankful for your continued support over the years and hope that you might consider making a donation in memory of Tony, and help support this important cause.

Now more than ever, the ALS community needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. That’s why we're joining thousands of others, a part of a passionate and motivated community to “walk” in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS. Please consider supporting our team and donating towards this important cause.

Your support will help to:

  • Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
  • Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario. This includes support groups, virtual programming, and information resources, which are all critical in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by ALS.

Join me, and the community of ALS Walk participants across the country, in making a difference. Please consider donating to my fundraising page, or our team fundraising page (tem Tony's Troopers) as we work toward a world free of ALS.

United, we are stronger together!

With sincere thanks,

Nancy
