Help me support research for ALS
Help me support research for ALS
Last year, my dad's wife, my stepmum, Claire, was diagnosed with ALS at only 62 years of age. It has devastated her and my father, and they have had to grieve the loss of so much together, not to mention the future they thought they would have.
To watch Claire go from a vibrant, energetic, hardworking person who loved to swim, laugh, travel, and go camping -- to now be confined to a wheelchair, unable to speak or swallow, and do all of the things she loved, is to say the least, absolutely heartbreaking. No one should ever have to go through this.
Please consider helping me to support the research behind this insidious disease so that we can put a stop to it.
Any amount no matter how small, could make a difference to someone's future.
Thank you.
Robert
*** Info About How Funding Helps ***
The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS.
There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum. Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario. This includes home visits and support groups, virtual programming, and information resources, which are all critical in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by ALS.
