Help me create a world free of ALS

This June, I'm participating in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS. For our family, this is deeply personal.

My youngest brother, Chris May, was recently diagnosed with ALS. As overwhelming as this diagnosis is, Chris has chosen to meet it the way he's approached his entire career - through advocacy and action. He is already making an impact by serving on the ALS Canada Advocay Committee and ensuring his voice is heard at every level of government. I'm incrediby proud of him for turning something so devasting into purpose.

Our family will be walking in two communities:

  • Niagara Region - June 6
  • Etobicoke/Missisauga (Port Credit) - June 20

If you're nearby, we would truly love for you to join us in person at one or both walks. Showing up means so much - not just to us, but to every family navigating ALS.  And if attending isn't possible, a donation to our team is deeply appreciated.

Now more than ever, the ALS community needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. That’s why we're joining thousands of others, a part of a passionate and motivated community to “walk” in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS. Please consider supporting our team and donating towards this important cause.

Your support will help to:

  • Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
  • Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario. This includes support groups, virtual programming, and information resources, which are all critical in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by ALS.

Join our team in making a difference. Please consider donating to our team fundraising page as we work toward a world free of ALS.
