Help me create a world free of ALS
On June 6th, our family is participating in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS for the person who inspires me most: my mom (Shirley Jacobs).
My mom is the positive person I know with a heart of a gold and has never stepped away from a challenge. Even in the face of her diagnosis, she tackles every day with a smile that continues to light up the world around her, fighting her fight with her head held high and continuing to make an impact on everyone she meets. She is my hero, and I am walking to honor her strength.
Now more than ever, the ALS community needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. Thatâs why we're joining thousands of others, a part of a passionate and motivated community to âwalkâ in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS. - Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. Thereâs been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century â we need to keep building on this momentum.
- Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario. This includes support groups, virtual programming, and information resources, which are all critical in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by ALS.
