Help me create a world free of ALS
Help me create a world free of ALS
This June, my family and I will be participating once again in ALS Canada's Walk to End ALS. We walk in memory of my dad, Tony, who passed away in 2013 after facing ALS for over 5 years. We also walk to show our support for those currently facing a diagnosis of ALS. We know firsthand the devastating effects this disease has not only for the individuals who are diagnosed, but the additional mental and emotional toll it takes on their families and loved ones.
By joining with the ALS community's fundraising efforts, we can work together to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. We're joining thousands of others across Canada to walk in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS. If you are able, please consider making a donation in support of ALS Canada's vitally important work.
Your support will help to:
- Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. There’s been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century – we need to keep building on this momentum.
- Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario. This includes support groups, virtual programming, and information resources, which are all critical in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by ALS.
Please consider donating to make a difference in working toward a world free of ALS. Thank you for your support!
