Stepping up for Steve
Help us continue Steve's legacy and create a world free of ALS
Help us continue Steve's legacy and create a world free of ALS
This is the first year of fundraising for the Walk to End ALS without Steve leading the charge. He passed away on May 21, 2025, just a couple of weeks before last year's walk.
I thought that after he passed away, I wouldn't continue doing the walk. It was always an emotional day -- a hard day. But over the six years that Steve captained teams, we collectively raised more than $100,000 for ALS research and support. He knew that a cure wouldn't come in time for him but that didn't stop him from trying to change the future for others affected by ALS. With him having had that kind of momentum and impact, Olivia and I decided we wanted to keep going -- for Steve and for those living with the same hope for a cure. So we are stepping up for Steve once again.
Please consider supporting us by donating and joining us on walk day. The ALS Society was an incredible source of support during our family's ALS journey and we will always be grateful for that.

This summer we will be participating in the ALS Canada Walk to End ALS. Now more than ever, the ALS community needs our support to provide hope and help to families affected by ALS. Thatâs why we're joining thousands of others, a part of a passionate and motivated community to âwalkâ in celebration of hope and a world free of ALS. Please consider supporting our team and donating towards this important cause.
Your support will help to:
Further scientific progress by investing in the ALS Canada Research Program, which funds promising ALS research. The ALS Canada Research Program is the only national dedicated source of funding for ALS research across Canada. This program provides peer-reviewed grants to researchers whose work has the greatest potential to advance the field of ALS. Thereâs been more progress made in ALS research in the last five years than over the last century â we need to keep building on this momentum. Create a better day-to-day reality for people and families living with ALS by providing community-based services throughout Ontario. This includes home visits and support groups, virtual programming, and information resources, which are all critical in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by ALS.
Join our team in making a difference. Please consider donating to our team fundraising page as we work toward a world free of ALS.
United, we are stronger together!
